The Call Las Vegas

October 20, 2007

Today in Las Vegas thousands of young adults gathered to cry out to God for mercy on our nation. They are gathered for 12 hours of fasting and prayer, meeting in one of the worst cities in our nation. We believe that it is only through massive gatherings of fasting and prayer that a nation can turn back to the Lord.

Edit (10/22):

After thinking more about the issue and some conversations with friends, I would like to change a part of the above text; “…meeting in one of the worst cities in our nation.” As I have thought more about Las Vegas and what it represents to us in the American culture, I am beginning to view it not as “one of the worst” but as a sample of what we as a nation would / will do when we are given full freedom and license. Las Vegas is a city where we go to do what we wouldn’t dream to do at home. It is human desires concentrated.
